Convert VTT to SRT
Paste WebVTT subtitles or choose a .vtt file. The tool numbers every cue, writes the times with a comma as SRT expects, and drops what SRT can't show: the WEBVTT header, notes, styles, cue positions and voice tags.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your subtitles are never uploaded.
How to convert VTT to SRT

Questions
- What is the difference between VTT and SRT?
- Both store the text of each subtitle with its start and end time. SRT numbers every cue and writes milliseconds after a comma; WebVTT starts with the word WEBVTT, uses a dot and can also hold positions, styles and notes. Web players expect VTT; most editors, TVs and upload forms accept SRT.
- What happens to positions and styles from the VTT file?
- SRT has no place for them, so they are left out. Italic, bold and underline tags stay, because SRT players understand them.
- Will the subtitle timing change?
- No. Every cue keeps its start and end time to the millisecond; only the way the time is written changes.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- Runs entirely in your browser. Your subtitles are never uploaded.
