Interview transcription for researchers
Qualitative interviews, focus groups and field recordings, transcribed with every speaker told apart and ready to code in NVivo, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti or a Word file. Your participants' recordings stay in the EU.
How SonaFact helps
Speakers told apart, named once
Speakers are separated automatically. Rename a speaker to a participant code once and it changes everywhere; when two people talk over each other, move a line to the right person in one click.
Your terminology, in any language
A hundred recording languages, detected automatically, with word-level timing in 32 of them. Add your field's terms to the glossary and they come back spelled right.
Participant data handled with care
Recordings are processed in the EU and encrypted, never used to train AI. Delete a recording and it is gone; backups expire after 30 days.
Where your recordings are processed, how long we keep them and how we answer requests from public authorities. Open the transparency page →

Straight into NVivo, MAXQDA or ATLAS.ti
Export a file laid out the way your analysis software reads transcripts: the speaker at the start of every utterance and a timestamp that links it to the recording. Clean verbatim leaves out “um” and “uh” when you want it to. On every plan.
Good to know
Check a transcript before you analyse it: words the engine was unsure about are underlined, and every transcript shows how many there are.
Which plan
The free plan takes 3 transcripts a day, up to 30 minutes each. For long interviews choose Starter (up to 3 hours per file, 20 hours a month) or Pro (6 hours per file, 60 hours a month).
The file stays in your browser until you create a free account — no card needed.
