Transcription for UX researchers
Upload the recording of a user interview or a usability session — video or audio — and get a transcript with the moderator and the participant told apart, ready to highlight and share with your team.
How SonaFact helps
Highlights and clips
Highlight text in four colours with a note, and download only the highlights as DOCX or TXT. Turn a stretch of up to 10 minutes into a clip and share it by link.
Every session searchable
Search all your sessions at once, or ask a question across them; every answer links to the moment it came from. Each question uses one AI job.
Share findings with the team
Send a link to a transcript, with or without the audio, for 7 days, 30 days or with no end date. Colleagues with a free account can comment on any line.
Straight into NVivo, MAXQDA or ATLAS.ti
Export a file laid out the way your analysis software reads transcripts: the speaker at the start of every utterance and a timestamp that links it to the recording. Clean verbatim leaves out “um” and “uh” when you want it to. On every plan.
Good to know
SonaFact transcribes the sound of a session; what happens on the screen is not analysed. It works on files you upload and does not connect to research repositories or video call tools.
Which plan
The free plan takes 3 sessions a day, up to 30 minutes each. Longer sessions need a paid plan: files up to 3 hours on Starter, 6 on Pro and 10 on Studio. Downloading the audio of a clip starts on Starter.
The file stays in your browser until you create a free account — no card needed.
