Subtitles and chapters for YouTube videos
Upload your video — MP4, MOV, MKV or WEBM — and get subtitles timed to the spoken words, ready to upload in YouTube Studio, plus a transcript for the description or a blog post.
How SonaFact helps
Subtitles people can read
SRT and WebVTT with up to 42 characters per line and two lines per subtitle; timing aims for 17 characters per second. Anything still too fast is listed, with its moment, before you download.
Chapters for the description
On Pro and Studio, a chapter list with timestamps is ready to paste into the video description, and each chapter links to the moment it comes from.
Subtitles in more languages
Translate the subtitles into 1 more language on Starter, or up to 4 on Pro and Studio, and read each translation next to the original before you upload it.

Good to know
SonaFact does not publish to YouTube and does not take links to videos: download the subtitle file and upload it in YouTube Studio yourself. Fix a sentence in the transcript first, and the subtitles follow.
Which plan
The free plan takes 3 videos a day, up to 30 minutes each, with SRT and VTT subtitles. Longer videos need a paid plan: files up to 3 hours on Starter, 6 on Pro and 10 on Studio. Chapters are on Pro and Studio.
The file stays in your browser until you create a free account — no card needed.
