Why choose SonaFact

How SonaFact compares with TurboScribe, Otter and Happy Scribe on price, languages, file length and where your recordings are stored. Every figure about another service comes from its own website, with the date we checked it.

  • SonaFact vs TurboScribe →

Same free plan, different priorities. SonaFact costs less to start and keeps your recordings in the EU. It turns transcripts into minutes and action items, and on Pro and Studio into call reviews, all linked to the recording.

  • SonaFact vs Otter →

Otter is built for live meetings. If you work with recordings, SonaFact transcribes 100 languages instead of 6, takes much longer files, doesn't cap the number of uploaded files on paid plans — unlike Otter Pro, which allows 10 uploads a month — and keeps your recordings in the EU, out of AI training.

  • SonaFact vs Happy Scribe →

Both keep your recordings in the EU — but SonaFact sells hours, not minutes. Starter gives you 20 hours for $9 a month, about 45 cents an hour; Happy Scribe Basic gives you 2 hours of uploaded-file transcription for $17.

Price per hour of transcription

The cheapest paid plan of each service that states how many hours it includes, at monthly billing, divided by those hours. At monthly billing, SonaFact Pro is the lowest-cost option on this list for up to 60 hours a month ($15). If you transcribe more than 60 hours a month, TurboScribe Unlimited ($20 a month for one person, no hour cap) costs less than SonaFact Studio. Per-hour figures assume you use all included hours.
