Transcription and subtitles for teachers
Turn a recorded lesson or lecture into a transcript your students can read and search, and into subtitles for the video you publish for your course.
How SonaFact helps
Subtitles for course videos
SRT and WebVTT on every plan, with up to 42 characters per line and two lines per subtitle. Subtitles still too fast to read are listed before you download.
A transcript students can open
Share a lecture by link, with or without the audio, for 7 days, 30 days or with no end date. Anyone with the link can read it; to comment on a line, they sign in to a free account.
In more than one language
Translate the subtitles and the transcript into 1 more language on Starter, or 4 on Pro and Studio. Translated sentences that need a second look are marked.

Good to know
Tell students and guests when a class is recorded, and follow your school's rules on recording. Correct the transcript first: subtitles are made from it, and updating a translation after a correction translates only the changed sentences again.
Which plan
The free plan takes 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each, with subtitles in the language of the recording. A 90-minute lecture needs Starter: files up to 3 hours and 20 hours a month, and subtitles translated into 1 more language.
The file stays in your browser until you create a free account — no card needed.
