Convert SBV (YouTube) captions to SRT
SBV is a simple caption format used by YouTube. Paste it or choose the .sbv file and get an SRT file that editors, TVs and other platforms accept — or a WebVTT file for the web.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your subtitles are never uploaded.
How to convert SBV to SRT

Questions
- What does an SBV file look like?
- Each caption starts with a line like 0:00:01.000,0:00:03.500 — start and end separated by a comma — followed by its text and an empty line. There are no cue numbers.
- Why convert SBV at all?
- Few programs outside YouTube read SBV. SRT works in almost every video editor, player and TV, and VTT in web players.
- Does the timing change?
- No. Each caption keeps its start and end time to the millisecond.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- Runs entirely in your browser. Your subtitles are never uploaded.
