How to edit subtitles online
- Open an SRT, VTT, SBV or ASS file — or add the first subtitle yourself.
- Correct the text and the times; choose your video to check each subtitle as it plays.
- Download the result as SRT or VTT.
Questions
- How do I type the times?
- As 00:01:02,500, 1:02.5 or just 62.5 seconds. With a video open, the buttons next to each subtitle take the current position of the video as its start or end.
- Which files can I open?
- SRT, WebVTT, SBV from YouTube, and ASS or SSA. From ASS the text, times and italics are kept; styles and positions are not.
- Is my work saved if I close the page?
- No. The editor doesn't store anything, so download the file before you close or reload the page.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- Runs entirely in your browser. Your subtitles are never uploaded.
