Remove timestamps and speaker names

Paste a transcript and choose what to remove: timestamps such as [00:01:23] or 00:01:23, the speaker names at the start of lines, or both. Subtitle numbers and the lines with --> go too, so SRT and VTT files turn into plain text.

Your text stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.

Have the recording too? SonaFact turns it into a transcript with speakers and timestamps — 3 transcripts a day for free, up to 30 minutes each.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
Your text stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.
Which timestamp formats does it recognise?
Times at the start of a line — 00:01:23, 1:23, [00:01:23] or (01:23), with milliseconds or as a range — and times in square or round brackets anywhere in the text. A time without brackets in the middle of a sentence, like “at 10:30”, stays.
Will it remove words followed by a colon that are not speakers?
A name followed by a colon counts as a speaker when it starts at least two lines, has a number, like Speaker 1, or stands between other speakers' lines. A single “Note:” in ordinary text stays.
Can I turn SRT or VTT subtitles into plain text?
Yes. Choose Timestamps: subtitle numbers, the lines with --> and the WEBVTT header are removed, and the text of each subtitle stays as its own paragraph.
