Remove filler words from a transcript

Choose the language of the transcript to load a ready list of hesitation sounds, or type your own. You see every word on the list, and can change it, before anything is removed.

Your text stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.

A letter may repeat: um also removes ummm. Only whole words are removed. Ready lists hold only sounds like “um” and “uh”, not words such as “like” or “you know”: whether those are fillers depends on the sentence.

Have the recording too? SonaFact turns it into a transcript with speakers and timestamps — 3 transcripts a day for free, up to 30 minutes each.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
Your text stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.
Which languages have a ready list?
27 languages, among them English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Polish, Japanese and Chinese. For any other language, type your own list.
Will it remove words like “like” or “you know”?
Not by itself: the ready lists hold only hesitation sounds. You can add other words to the list, but read the result, because the same words also carry meaning.
What happens to the punctuation?
A comma right after a filler is removed with it, double spaces are cleaned up, and if a sentence started with the filler, the next word gets a capital letter.
