Podcast show notes template
What listeners look for under an episode, in the order they look for it: what it's about, chapters with times, who the guest is, the links mentioned and the credits.
The file is made right here, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.
How to use it

- What should podcast show notes include?
- A short summary of the episode, chapters with time stamps, a few lines about the guest, the main takeaways, links to everything mentioned, and the credits. Add where to listen and follow, and a link to the transcript if you publish one.
- How do I write chapter time stamps?
- Put each chapter on its own line, starting with the time: 00:00 Introduction, 04:15 the next topic, and so on. YouTube turns lines like these in a video description into chapters when the list starts at 00:00.
- How long should show notes be?
- Long enough for a listener to decide whether to press play and to find what was mentioned: usually a summary of two or three sentences, the chapters and the links. A full transcript is better linked than pasted in.
